Nonprofits 101: Understanding the Basics
Curious about starting a nonprofit or trying to better understand how they operate?
Join the Waterbury Black Business Network for an informative and engaging workshop designed to break down the fundamentals of nonprofit organizations. Whether you are exploring an idea, currently building, or simply want to understand how nonprofits function, this session will give you the clarity you need.
In this workshop, we will walk through what defines a nonprofit, how it differs from a for profit business, and the key components required to build and sustain one. We will also discuss governance, funding streams, and the real responsibilities that come with leading a mission driven organization.
Led by Olivia Dudley, Director, and Dominiqua Garry, Positive Youth Development Director at Waterbury Youth Services, this session will provide real world insight from professionals actively working in the nonprofit sector.
